Have a Slice of the KEELIME Vibe...
With their infectious songs, summertime grooves and blissful vibe, Montreal pop-rockers KeeLime will have you diving right into their refreshing sound, feeling that it truly is good to be alive. “The greatest melody is the one I havenʼt heard before.” Says KeeLime alter-ego Lu Rolli. A singer/songwriter, whose artistic journey started after discovering his grandfatherʼs poems written on the other side of old photographs, a journey, where, as he puts it: “Lu Rolli is the traveller and KeeLime is the Vehicle.” And just like in those old poem/photographs, where one side holds the picture and the other side holds the words, KeeLime and Lu Rolli co-exist: Experience and art. Those dualities, that balance you find in something like the sun rising is key. As KeeLime so poignantly assesses “Life is a simple series of ʻhellosʼ and ʻgood-byesʼ.” All of these moments are songs to KeeLime. All experiences are a celebration that makes us able to understand each other better. To feel the balance between work and play, light and dark, rainy days and sunshine and the melody and groove of music. Between the sweet and the sour. And then to let yourself go, just dive in and explore. Going Native I is KeeLimeʼs first album of these experiences. With songs like the uplifting and inspiring “Overcome By You”, the poolside reggae-frolic of “Love Speed”, the 80ʼs inspired “Something Like Dancing” and the fan favourite, alt-dance track “Closer To Almost There”, it is easy to hear that Singer KeeLime (Lu Rolli), Guitarist Fred Di Santo and drummer Ken Cabral are having a fantastic time and they are extending us an invitation to jump in and join them. “The aim, the ʻMasterplanʼ, is to write wonderful music.” Says KeeLime. And if the overwhelming response to Going Native I by fans and the music business (radio, internet radio, indie record companies) is any indication – the plan is working. For KeeLime itʼs the perfect response to their invitation to become “Eternal Limers”. Still, the Journey doesnʼt end there for KeeLime. To paraphrase the old optimist stand-by; “If life offers you limes, you make another record!” Going Native II is in the works with new songs flowing deep and danceable. So grab a slice of the KeeLime Vibe, kick back and enjoy because thereʼs more where that came from. Written by: Tean Schultz (Moonbabe Records)
