Biography:
Hi, I'm Stan and I'm a freelance professional music producer, arranger, recording / mix / mastering engineer and founder of Zeitgeist Production.
I'm also an accomplished composer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, sound designer, video editor and film maker. I currently work out of fellow producer Don Mack's Quo Vadis Studio's in North London and my good friend Rough Edit's studio in Fulham, SW London. Quo Vadis Studio's is perfect for full band recordings and big projects, Rough Edit's studio is ideal for smaller scale programming, mixing, mastering and re-mixing projects. For rates and to tempt me with an interesting project send an email with as much info as possible to: zeitgeistproduction@yahoo.co.uk CURRICULUM VITAE 2009 has so far been spent developing ongoing relationships with various choice bands, solo artists and independent film & TV companies who I'd like to work with in the coming months (most notably recession busting UK feature film phenomena Michael’s Resignation, currently in pre-production). From November '08 to January '09 I worked as resident mix engineer and studio assistant for established music producer James Sanger (U2/Keane/Dido) at his studio in Normandy, France. Prior to that, I spent three years at Rose Bruford College where in July 2008 I graduated with a BA Hons Degree in Music Technology. In May 2008, whilst studying for my degree, I worked for ITV Imagine as recording and mix engineer for their ‘Alive and Kicking’ corporate team-building project. This involved co-writing, recording and mixing three songs with three non-musical members of ITV staff. During my final year at university, I produced an album for solo singer/songwriter Carl Picton, an EP for my rock band Origins of Oceania and conceived, edited, directed and appeared in a music video for a track from the EP. I also executively produced and edited a friend’s documentary about my artistic endeavours. In my second year at university, I composed a soundscape and an original score for a critically acclaimed theatre production of Howard Barker’s ‘The Love of a Good Man’. I also worked for sound recordist Jonathan Wyatt on E4 show Nearly Famous for four weeks in the summer of 2007. My roles included playback, occasional boom op and recording / mixing the audio for a karaoke scene in episode three. In addition, I worked as a supporting artist for the preceding four weeks of the shoot. Prior to starting my degree in 2005, I worked as a general assistant at Ocean Studio's, Battersea for three years where, in 2003, I co-wrote and co-produced a trip-hop album for a band called Lowlife who were subsequently pursued by EMI publishing and Sony BMG. I am a highly skilled music producer adept at using Logic Studio and most equivalent software as well as all other aspects of the recording and production process. I am self-taught to a professional level on Final Cut Pro with a keen eye for detail and a knack for video editing. I am an experienced professional musician and live performer who has gigged with some of the best musicians in London. My main instruments are voice, guitar, piano/keys and bass. I also have experience of working on film and TV sets.
