Singer/Songwriter Vikki Clayton, plays the Classic Rock Club in Cheshunt on Friday 28th May. Described by no less an authority than Fairport Convention’s Dave Pegg as “the closest I’ve ever heard to Sandy Denny”, the voice of Vikki Clayton is truly a wonderful instrument. A who’s who of the music world have appeared on her albums including members of Jethro Tull, Steeleye Span and Gordon Giltrap. Regular appearances at Fairport’s Cropredy Festival in Banbury,with stella names such as Robert Plant & Fairport Convention, have won her many fans over the years. Originating from North West London, Vikki now resides in New Zealand so sadly her appearances in the UK have become less and less. This is a not to be missed one-off gig. The Classic Rock Club Cheshunt is in its third year...We have established a good audience of Music Lovers, who appreciate Good Live Rock & Blues Bands...It use to be a Free admission gig...Hence the healthy regular crowd of around 50-70 members....but alas the club was losing too much money and almost closed at Christmas...we decided to charge £2 on the door to cover the Ex,s of putting the Show on....that seemed to work and the audience were happy with the door price and kept coming back... Unfortunately we still cant afford to pay the Bands that perform at The Club...But the reason that Bands are queuing up th play at The CRC...is that they get to play in front of an appreciative audience and if they like you they will buy your C.D,s and Merchandise....
